Description: The Young 5s Teacher will help to create a fun environment and incorporate educational programs that assist in our children’s development. They will be responsible for monitoring and teaching the 5 year-old children in our program, developing a curriculum that the children will respond to positively and partnering with our team to enhance the learning environment at our school. Experience: 2+ years’ experience working with children in a classroom setting
Must be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma.
Degree or major in elementary education, child guidance/counseling, child psychology, family studies, or social work preferred.
Must have a warm and friendly personality with sensitivity to the feelings and needs of both children and adults.
Display a willingness to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the center's philosophy and mission.
Job requires much physical activity and a high energy level.
CPR and First Aid certifications preferred but not required.
Willing to be trained in child related topics.
Develop and maintain a constructive and ongoing rapport with children and parents
Create activities that are fun and educational for the children
Collaborate with other teachers to ensure that the school fosters an environment that is inviting and nurturing for every child
Deliver reports on potential concerns about students as to management as needed
Manage day-to-day classroom activities, including structured lessons, free play, bathroom breaks, lunch time and rest time for students
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
