Description: E.E. Rogers is seeking a dedicated, qualified Head Teacher to teach and lead the school. The teaching grade levels may be upper or lower grades. The qualified candidate will need to have administrative experience in operating a small school. In a small school, the local school board assumes a greater responsibility in assisting the head teacher with administrative duties and responsibilities.
E.E. Rogers SDA School is located in the southern part of Jackson, MS. Jackson is the capital city and the largest urban city in the state of Mississippi. The Mississippi Arts Pavilion, which hosted the Palaces of St. Petersburg, the Splendors of Versailles, the Majesty of Spain, and the Glory of Baroque: Dresden exhibitions, were renovated to become the new home of the Mississippi Museum of Art. A new downtown convention center and adjacent telecommunications center accommodate a variety of large events. The school facility was recently expanded through the purchase of a larger building. The school has two buildings. The main building has six classrooms and a library. The second building is fashioned with a dining hall, grand gymnasium and a plethora of storage space. The school is housed on 4.02 acres of land with a huge span of playground space in the rear of the buildings. E.E. Rogers has supportive stakeholders who are committed to Christian education and have exemplified their commitment by purchasing this wonderful building.
Experience: Qualification & Experience: Candidates must be a faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a servant leader disposition. Training and experience may include, but is not limited to; differentiated instruction, data driven instruction, use of classroom learning centers, effective classroom management skills, effective student supervision skills, inside and outside to the building, providing spiritual school leadership, providing leadership and supervision for the implementation of the curriculum, developing and maintaining positive community relations, etc. NAD elementary teaching certification is required.
