Description: Summary of School: Holbrook Indian School (HIS) is located in Holbrook, AZ; 20 miles south of the Navajo Reservation. HIS is a 1st through 12th grade boarding school operated by the Pacific Union Conference. We are an innovative, dynamic, spiritual team of dedicated educators and administrators working to meet the individual needs of Native Americans.
Summary of Job Responsibilities: Report to Business Manager (supervisor) and work with the Business Manager/Registrar to develop a reliable student billing and financial aide process. Work with staff, parents, and students to ensure maximum scholarship funds are acquired and ensure records are submitted to scholarship organizations by their deadlines. Also seek out new scholarships that students qualify for. Maintain & reconcile student A/R & A/P accounts in accounting software (AASI). Process A/R & A/P transactions related to student scholarships and billing (e.g. Journal Voucher entries). Input financial/billing information in Bloomerang payment management system. Work with administrators to manage information and details for large projects (e.g. new staff housing purchase). Assist the school accountant, administrative assistant for front office as needed & perform other duties as assigned (e.g. bank deposits).
Experience: Conditions of Employment: Candidates must be members in good standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and will be subject to a background check. Candidates must possess the legal right to work in the United States and may be subject to a trial period.
Education/Experience: Associate degree in business administration or communication; or in a related field (e.g. management, public relations); OR, Combination of 2 years of education & experience in business administration and/or customer relation/service.
Skills/Demeanor: Service-oriented attitude, culturally conscientious and able to work with students, families, and staff of diverse backgrounds. Possess good verbal and written communication skills. Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and effective time management. Priority given for competent technology skills (e.g. Microsoft Windows, Excel, an accounting system). Absolute confidentiality and trust are essential. Most importantly, possess a love for God, a love for working with children, and a desire to see each child in Heaven.
Compensation: Wages/benefits are based on the North American Division Wage Scale and the Pacific Union Conference Education Code; this position is a full-time hourly position (38 to 40 hours per week) and wages will be determined based on experience (range $12.00 to $14.63).
