Description: NUA Principal Job Description Nile Union Academy (NUA) exists to promote God’s work in the lives of young people. Our mission is to attract, educate, and train young people to surrender their head, heart, and hands to the God of the universe. 1) Job Title: Principal 2) Key Objectives: To facilitate NUA achieving its mission 3) Description of Responsibilities: a) Personnel: All NUA staff and students b) Plant: Everything that happens on the 33 acres of land NUA is located on i) Main Tasks: To facilitate the coordinated effort of NUA to accomplish its mission, Teach appropriate classes if needed 4) Line of Responsibility a) Responsible to: NUA Board and NUA Board Chairman b) Responsible for: All staff and students 5) Description of Job Process a) General Work i) Lovingly participate in the social and spiritual life of NUA students ii) To support, coordinate and advise NUA staff in their various areas of responsibility iii) To chair a variety of committees needed to run the school iv) To represent NUA to the Adventist church in Egypt, Sudan, and the Middle East North Africa Union v) To represent NUA to the larger Egyptian and Sudanese community vi) Oversee the disciplining of students vii) Teach appropriate classes as needed viii) To support NUA’s industries in their quest to be financially profitable. ix) Build bridges and connect with Adventist colleges to facilitate our students continuing in the Adventist education system 6) Description of Work a) Day to Day Work i) Teach appropriate classes ii) Ensure the smooth running of NUA’s Business Office iii) Handle all new discipline issues. iv) To check in with key NUA personnel regarding the operations of their areas v) To be the final authority on campus regarding problems that arise and decisions that need to be made vi) Ensure that the office is not left open without an office staff member present. b) Week to Week Work i) Attend Staff Meeting ii) Attend Friday Morning Staff Worship iii) Chair the following committees: Staff Council, Deans Council, Admin Committee, Discipline Committee, Admissions Committee iv) Attend Curriculum Committee c) Month to Month Work i) Supervision duties as scheduled ii) Chair Scholarship Committee, Facilities and Finance Committee d) Quarter to Quarter Work i) To be secretary of NUA School Board ii) To represent NUA at Egypt-Sudan Field Executive Committee e) Year to Year Work i) To lead the staff through NUA’s pre session and post session at the beginning and end of the summer ii) Chair Admissions Committee
Experience: 1. Has a passion to grow young people in their relationship with Jesus. 2. Secondary boarding school principal or vice principal exp. 3. Cross cultural or former foreign mission exp. 4. Works well with staff from MANY cultures. 5. Willing to make a 5 yr. committment to this opportunity in missions.
