Description: The Vice Principal for Finance and Facilities at Auburn Adventist Academy (AAA) is responsible for managing school finances and facilities. This position manages the day-to-day operations of the Business Office, and the Maintenance and Grounds Departments, directly supervising six employees. Key responsibilities include overseeing student accounts, billing, collections, student labor, and facility maintenance. Other responsibilities include board and committee memberships, supervision of students, monthly accounting close and financial reporting. The preparation of a realistic budget followed by periodic performance reports that accurately show the financial health of the academy is very important, as is preparing for the annual audit and ensuring that proper procedures are followed for all transactions. The AAA campus also has 30 single-family rental homes and an industrial park, making property management an important aspect of the position.
Experience: The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of accounting with not less than 5 years accounting experience in the not-for-profit sector, preferably in a boarding academy or other church operated entity. In addition, experience using AASI or similar accounting information system is critical. An undergraduate business degree is required, and an MBA degree is preferred. A strong knowledge of Excel and proficiency with technology is required. The successful candidate must be a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in good standing and be dedicated to the mission of the worldwide church.
