Description: The Department of Administration & Leadership in the School of Education at La Sierra University is seeking qualified applicants for two tenure-track faculty positions which will be open as of July 1, 2018.
The department offers Master of Arts (M.A.), Specialist in Education (Ed.S.) and Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degrees and participates in the offering of the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Leadership. Graduate students come mostly from the surrounding public school districts and from the Pacific Union Conference, although there are extension programs on other campuses and online courses are presently being developed.
The successful applicant for these faculty positions will have demonstrated a strong theoretical understanding of leadership and management theory, will have served as a highly effective administrator at the K-12 level in the United States of America, holds an earned doctorate in administration, leadership, or closely related field of study, can provide evidence of his or her creative and effective teaching ability, and will present a plan for his or her scholarly work.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold a Ph.D., who have served in both public and Seventh-day Adventist educational institutions, who have successfully served as faculty members and/or administrators at the higher education level, and who have an established record of scholarly publication.
La Sierra University faculty salaries range from $64,100 - $90,300 depending on the faculty member’s assigned academic rank. A generous benefits package is also provided.
