Description: We are seeking a godly person who wishes to make a positive difference in our Assist program. The Assist program works with Southern Adventist University and employs Academy students to help out and visit with older folks in our community. The goal of the program is to help bridge the generation gap and develop friendships. Normal work week consists of 10-12 hours. Hours are Monday – Friday from 3pm to 5pm.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
*Transport students to nursing home and mentor homes.
*Supervision of student workers during nursing home visits.
*Visit with mentors to make sure we are meeting their needs.
*Visit with potential mentors to determine program eligibility.
*Good communication skills with parents, students, and fellow staff members.
Experience: The assist supervisor must have a driver’s license and be comfortable driving a van. It is also important the applicant be interesting in working with and building relationships with young people. The applicant should be ready to furnish the names of at least three references who can attest to high spiritual and ethical standards.
