Description: Livingstone Adventist Academy in Salem, Oregon, seeks a high school Math teacher for approximately 65 students in grades 9-12 for the 2018-2019 school year. Salem is located in the state’s beautiful capital city, which boasts excellent shopping, a variety of cultural and arts events, and close (one hour) proximity to both the beach and snow sports. The school is in the middle of a total campus rebuild, with the new gym and industrial arts/technology complex in use and the classroom/administrative wing slated for completion by the middle of next school year. The construction costs are fully covered, with the only additional fundraising being to furnish and outfit the new instructional and administrative spaces.
Experience: Candidates should exhibit a passion for the ministry of teaching, be motivated by student success, be comfortable with standards-based, differentiated instruction consistently geared toward increasing student achievement, and possess a growth mindset. Candidates with teaching experience are preferred, but high-quality new graduates will be considered. All applicants must have graduated from an accredited college or university, be endorsed to teach Math (Spanish endorsement would be an awesome bonus!), be eligible for NAD certification, and show proof of the legal right to work in the United States.
