Description: • Maintain Executive Director’s calendar and schedule appointments • Screen incoming calls and correspondence; handle as many as possible independently • Schedule quarterly meetings for Advancement Division; prepare agenda and minutes for meetings • Record and type minutes for the Oakwood University Board of Trustees Advancement Sub-committee, Division and Directors, and other assigned meetings and committees • Compose, prepare and/or handle confidential correspondence, reports and budgets • Process requisitions for payment; process personnel requisitions and change forms • Take initiative to address and resolve problems • Manage Vice President’s travel schedule and make travel arrangements • Hire and supervise student employees • Manage Title III funding for Advancement • Perform other duties assigned by Executive Director for Advancement and Development Office
Experience: • Bachelor’s degree preferred; some college with administrative work experience accepted (office work, administrative skills, planning and organizing) • 2 to 3 years work experience in office management, administrative assistance, or related experience desired • Must be a team player possessing critical thinking skills, great communication skills; results oriented and mission focused • Effective speaker, self-motivated, good time management; ability to prioritize • Must successfully complete the clerical examination with 70% accuracy, including typing speed of 45 words per minute with 70% accuracy.
