Description: The Assistant Professor-PhD prepares and presents materials for designated courses, mentors and/or advises students, and coordinates the courses assigned. The candidate in this position will teach courses in statistics and research and works on papers for publications and journals. The candidate also consults faculty and staff on research projects. A successful candidate is proficient in computer, statistical software programs, is able to design analytic statistical models for non-standard analytic situations and has good writing skills. Performs other duties as needed. Job Specifications: Knowledge of current technology and educational media used in teaching and presentations. Able to effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective and positive manner. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position as well as Canvas and Banner. Able to communicate effectively on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
Experience: A doctorate degree from an accredited institution required. Doctorate degree in biostatistics or statistics preferred. Minimum two years of work/teaching experience in the area of statistics required. Member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church preferred.
