Description: Reports to Program Director/Chair. The Physician Assistant functions as a Program Faculty and assists with organizing and structuring the academic program in accordance with established educational standards and practices. Coordinates the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the professional Physician Assistant course. Provides lectures and supervises and instructs students in clinical settings, and performs administrative duties. Performs other duties as needed. Job Specifications: Knowledge of current technology and educational media used in teaching and presentations. Able to effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective and positive manner Able to keyboard 40 wpm. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Able to communicate effectively on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
Experience: Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree in physician assistant studies preferred. Minimum one year of previous teaching experience required. License or certification applicable to area of teaching as a Physician Assistant required. Current certification through the NCCPA and license to practice as a Physician Assistant required. Maintains a clinical practice required.
