Description: Job Summary: Primarily to do painting and related duties on exterior and interior of campus buildings, housing and apartments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Paints by rolling, brushing or spraying
Preparation of surfaces for painting by scraping, caulking and sanding
Assists in moving furniture, cabinets, doors and drawers
Performs all other reasonably business-related functions as assigned
Special Requirements: Must have an expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and be a SDA church member in good and regular standing.
Experience: Qualifications: Must be familiar with various types of preparation for painting and methods of application. Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Must hold a valid U.S. driver’s license with a good driving record.
Education and Experience: Professional painting experience required.
Skills and Aptitudes: Interpersonal relationship skills essential with ability to work with supervisors and other employees in a team spirit, and the ability to interact appropriately with personnel (faculty and students) on the job site. Have safety-consciousness and able to promote it within work force. Must use care with tools and equipment.
Physical Demands: Painting calls for a variety of postures, squatting, bending, standing, looking up, reaching away from the body, standing on uneven surfaces, and working on a ladder, scaffold and man lift. The painter must be able to work under these conditions for extended periods of time and must be able to lift a 5 gallon bucket of paint, and on occasion up to 100 pounds.
Working Conditions: Essential tasks are performed under normal weather and office/school conditions with little or no noticeable discomfort. May require outside work for exterior painting.
