Description: Applegate Adventist Jr. Academy is seeking a full-time teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. The school is located about 20 miles north of downtown Austin, TX. The school has an opening for a dedicated, caring, dynamic teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. The teacher should be someone who is a team player and who loves children. Applicants for this position must model Christ-like behavior and attitudes which will positively impact students in leading them to Christ. The teacher for each class should be a strong team player and must be able to deliver instruction to students on the indicated subjects or grade levels using a variety of teaching methods and activities. The ideal teacher is: fun, energetic, engaging, good communicator, good planner and organizer; able to collaborate and work well with teachers, pastors, board members and community leaders, and have a desire to guide students in developing a relationship with Jesus. Multi-grade teaching is what will be required, so experience in this area is preferred, however, not required. Applicant skill sets should include strong people skills, good communication, ability to foster positive relationships, be proficient and knowledgeable about technology and its implementation into the classroom and curriculum.
Experience: Minimum: B.S. Degree in Elementary Education is required. Salary and benefits are based on the denominational wage scale and policy. Candidate must either have, or be able to easily obtain denominational certification, and must have the legal right to work and reside in the United States.
