Description: Taipei Adventist American School, in Taipei, Taiwan, is an Adventist American curriculum International school catering to the needs of international families looking to give their kids a top education in a natural environment. This is also a very exciting opportunity to share Jesus with parents and students who otherwise may not get the opportunity! We are looking for a Business Manager to run the financial and business-related aspects of the school. Responsibilities include: • Develop and converse financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets, protect confidential information, and ensure accurate financial reporting. • Oversee school business functions including, but not limited to, tuition billing and collection, accounts payable, contracting, payroll, human resources, accounting and reporting, regulatory reporting and compliance, and other business administration activities. • Oversee the maintenance of the buildings, grounds, and equipment. • Administer the annual budget and multi-year forecasting process to align with the school’s goals and mission and maintain account records related to the school’s budget. • Provide financial reports to school leadership and the board. • Participate in the development of school strategy, providing recommendations, financial analysis, projections, and other data to inform the process. • Collaborate with and assist the Principal and the school board in meeting fiduciary responsibilities. • Present timely and fully costed proposals and recommendations for school development projects • Establish and use effective methods of review and improve administrative systems • Use data analysis, evaluation and reporting systems to maximum effect by ensuring systems are streamlined to maximize efficiency and avoid duplication. • Understand the culture and climate of the school and the wider educational environment • Communicate clearly and enthusiastically to all staff and stakeholders in verbal and written form. • Ensure that human resources policies and practices are clearly articulated, consistently applied, and conform to legal requirements. • Remain current with business management trends and cultivate professional standards and development by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintain personal networks, and participating in local, regional and national professional organizations Benefits: Highly competitive salary comparable to other Foreign schools in Asia. • Paid flight to Taiwan and back each year, • high quality furnished housing, • Full medical coverage (Taiwan has some of the best and cheapest medical services in the world!), • 4-10% matching savings/retirement funds (paid out at end of contract), • continuing education opportunities, • and the chance to live in the number one ranked country for quality of life for expats. Experience: Minimum: Bachelor's degree (in Business related field, Accounting preferred), MBA or CPA is a plus. • Experience in finance/accounting in a school setting • Proven success in a senior administrative role, preferably working with a board • Demonstrated leadership qualities – organizing people and processes • High ethical standards • Excellent oral and written communication skills, set priorities • The ability to work collaboratively with coworkers and other school community members • Analytical skills and a detail-oriented work style • Ability to communicate with employees, coworkers and other school members in a positive manner • Ability to learn, and become proficient in, data/accounting management software in order to provide current and accurate financial data and reports • Highly organized and ambitious for school development • Also must be a Seventh-day Adventist church member in good standing who loves to share Jesus with children (and parents)!
