Description: Potomac Conference is seeking a candidate for a middle school English Language Arts teacher position. Takoma Academy Preparatory School is located in Silver Spring, Maryland and is committed to inspiring thinkers, achievers, peacemakers, and servant leaders. Experience: Takoma Academy Preparatory School is seeking a dedicated, qualified school teacher with a passion and love for students and teaching. Candidates must be a faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The ideal candidate must be a professional educator with a strong commitment to Christ and be able to meet the needs of every child in a diverse population. The candidate should possess the following qualities/skills: * Demonstrate the ability to teach in ways that are interactive, hands-on, project-based, and promote self-discovery and critical thinking * Experience using data to inform instruction on an on-going basis * A clear understanding of curriculum and instruction * Ability to establish a spiritual, caring, effective, and efficient classroom environment * Experience managing online learning classrooms * Capacity to nurture students and work collaboratively with families * Strong interpersonal, writing, and communication skills * Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team Qualifications: The candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years of successful teaching, with experience in teaching middle school aged students.
