Description: Academic Mentor: o Collaborates with Director to design, run, maintain and track programs for high-risk students to achieve academic success. o Assesses and counsels academic probation students, connecting them to additional campus resources including Advisors, Counseling Center Services, Residence Hall Deans, CARE team. o Constructs individual student files, documents progress for each student’s academic goals for all students on caseload. o Conducts weekly individual mentoring sessions with students on academic probation to monitor and track academic progress. o Collaborates with Teaching and Learning Center staff for additional student referral assignments and service delivery recommendations. o Accepts team assignments as needed for TLC programs. o Contacts Academic advisors, teachers, deans, counselors and other appropriate support personnel for purposes of enhanced Academic success. o Maintains knowledge base of current school policies regarding academic status and financial aid to assist students in understanding link between academic achievements and funding resources. o Problem solves with Academic Advisors and Financial Aid Counselor to help students persist towards academic goals. o Gathers student files information for TLC’s academic archive at quarter’s end for students who did not return or who are no longer on academic probation. o Summarizes student files for student appeals of academic suspension or dismissal for TLC Director to present to the Admissions Committee. Office Management: o Central TLC contact for front desk reception area and student workers o Hires, supervises and terminates student employees, assigns wages, schedules work hours, holds student staff meetings, updates procedure manuals, assigns work, maintains payroll system, and supervises the daily task duties of Student workers. o Tracks department productivity statistics of weekly mentoring sessions and programs. o Coordinates TLC special events including advertising and marketing o Organize office operations and procedures o Coordinate with IT department on all office equipment o Organize office operations and procedures

Experience: • Master’s Degree Preferred in the Education or Behavioral Sciences field. • Strong student-service orientation with abilities to listen, empathize, advocate and support. • Ability to assess complex cases, applying strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. • Works well under direction, independently, or as part of a collaborative team. • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Power Point and Excel. • Strong English writing skills. • Commitment to Seventh-day Adventist higher education and mission
