Description: Job Summary: The Simulation technician Assistant’s role is to maintain and facilitate use of technology and supplies in the Nursing Inter-Professional Educational (IPE) Simulation Center. This position is for a non-teaching role with the employee responsible for operating solely within the scope of providing administrative support in the IPE Simulation center. Specific responsibilities include: 2. Meets professional obligations, such as assigned hours, adjunct faculty workshops and updates, and deadlines. 3. Completes annual basic safety education and corporate integrity education on time. 14. Designs work flow to facilitate service to the IPE Simulation center. 544 15. In coordination with the IPE Simulation Center Coordinator, is responsible for the day to day operation of all equipment in the lab along with logistics and maintenance of that equipment. 18. Develop inventory control procedures to monitor laboratory supply levels to meet the needs of students and faculty. 19. Monitors the request and disperses supplies to students and faculty. 20. Monitor equipment safety and performance testing and certification. 21. Assures the receipt of supplies and equipment. 22. Orders and maintains linen. 23. Assures disposal of industrial wastes as per OSHA and college standards. 24. Provides simulation technical support when needed 25. Works with auxiliary network technicians to assure the operation of all equipment in the lab. 26. Assists, along with the IPE Simulation Center Coordinator, in the training of faculty to all equipment in the lab. 27. Works with the IPE Simulation Center Coordinator to effectively utilize the scheduling software. 28. Schedules tours of lab upon request. 29. May research, evaluate, and recommend new lab materials and equipment. Requirements: Education: High School diploma License: Current and valid certification in ACLS, BLS, PALS and ATLS are desirable. Attend Laerdal specific training for Simulations Technicians. Experience: Prior simulation experience with a least one year of experience in a relevant technical or health-related field is preferred. Simulation certification or willingness to obtain certification within six months of employment. Additional Requirements: Must be able to utilize analytical problem solving skills to resolve issues related to patient care simulation scenarios. Must work effectively and collaboratively with nursing faculty and other members of the IPE Simulation Center.
