Description: Oakwood Adventist Academy is searching for a dedicated, qualified Christian educator who adheres to the tenets of the SDA Church. More specifically, we are seeking a high school music teacher for the 2022-2023 school-term with competence in differentiated instruction, data-driven instruction and the PLC (professional learning community) model. Ideal candidates will exhibit the necessary skill-sets for developing and implementing a well-rounded music program which includes a combination of choir, band, orchestra, or a combination of all. The candidate will work with students on concerts, and other events that include music, plan vocal performances as well as instrumental training for beginners to advance learners. Other: Oakwood Adventist Academy is a K-12 school with 198 students, located in Huntsville, Alabama. Huntsville is ranked as a top city for STEM related jobs, a top city for families, and ranked #7 in US News and World Report’s Best Cities to Live Rankings. Experience: Qualified individuals will possess a desire to continually improve, collaborate, and teach students the love of Christ. A bachelor’s degree in Music Education along with high musical competence and proficiency of a musical instrument is required for the music teacher position. A NAD certification is required.
