Description: The appointed faculty member will be expected to teach undergraduate automotive technology courses and work with the chair of the Department of Technology in developing curriculum while pursuing connections with business related industries and communities beyond the University. The appointee will teach undergraduate automotive technology courses, act as student academic adviser, and supervise individuals and groups of students. Supervise the University Auto Service and operations, including staffing/training and budget oversight. The faculty member will be expected to participate in curriculum development, engage in academic and professional community service, participate in faculty governance, and work collaboratively with internal and external research organizations. Experience: The ideal candidate will possess experience in teaching with a strong background and advanced knowledge of professional practices in Automotive Technology. Required: • Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology or a related teaching field • ASE Master Automobile Certified (with L1 preferred) • ASE or MACS Refrigerant Recovery License • Technical update training received in the past five years Desired: • Ability to obtain certified instructor status with an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) • Ability to obtain ASE G1 certification within first year of employment • Ability to obtain ASE L2 and L3 certification Preferred: • Master’s degree in Automotive Technology or a related teaching field
