Description: WALLA WALLA UNIVERSITY invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the Edward F. Cross School of Engineering to begin January 1, 2023, or at a mutually agreeable time. The School of Engineering is seeking an inspirational leader with strong management and administrative skills who will collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to strengthen faculty development, develop and implement strategic initiatives, and advocate for the School of Engineering. If you share a passion for young people and Christian education, the School of Engineering offers a unique opportunity for service. A more detailed job description is available upon request. Walla Walla University is a Seventh-day Adventist comprehensive university with approximately 1,700 students located in southeastern Washington's Walla Walla Valley. The School of Engineering has a strong undergraduate program with a 75-year-history and over 45 years of ABET accreditation. The School of Engineering enjoys an excellent reputation with industries employing its graduates who now number more than 1500. The school has 11 faculty, good facilities, upgraded laboratories and an enrollment of approximately 180 students. The School of Engineering offers an ABET-accredited degree, a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with concentrations in bio, civil, computer, electrical, and mechanical engineering. A bioengineering science interdisciplinary program is also supported. The school plans to launch a new Master’s of Engineering program, pending approval from our accreditors. These programs equip students to enter the engineering profession or to pursue further graduate study at top ranked schools. We aim to provide students with superb teaching, effective mentoring, and individual attention.

Experience: The ideal applicant will have a heart for service as a member of the Seventh-day Adventist church, an earned doctorate in engineering or a related field, and experience in engineering education or engineering practice. Well qualified applicants with a Master’s degree in engineering may also be considered.
