Description: The Food Service Director is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Southern Adventist University’s Food service department, which is comprised of the: Cafeteria, Kayak, CK2, Vending, The Garden, Village Market’s and Catering venues. This position focuses on delivering enjoyable experiences for students, employees, and guests all while promoting a positive Christian work environment in each of these areas; and ultimately applying solutions, creative ideas, and management decisions that are fiscally and operationally sound. Experience: A Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 5 years Food Service management required, with preference of 2 years at an assistant director level or higher, working in/for operations involving mass production in a commercial kitchen and/or fast paced restaurant environment. Experience and hands-on knowledge of plant based and/or vegetarian cuisine are highly desirable for this position. In addition, strong interpersonal skills is required, along with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook required. Must have experience managing P&L and creating budgets.
