Description: Mother Lode Adventist Junior Academy (MLAJA) is seeking a principal with teaching responsibilities. Daily time will be scheduled for administrative duties and teaching several classes. The current need is for choir, band and handbells. However, there is a possibility of other combinations depending on the candidate. MLAJA is partnering with Central Valley Christian Academy to start offering 11th and 12th grade classes in the upcoming years. MLAJA is located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, two hours east of San Francisco and one hour north of Yosemite National Park. This puts skiing, hiking, canoeing, and other outdoor activities close to the school. At the same, San Francisco and other Bay Area attractions are only 130 miles away. The MLAJA community comprises an active and supportive church, a thriving Early Childhood Education Center, and an expanding Adventist hospital. A full-time office administrator handles day-to-day office duties and communications. The school receives additional support from an established endowment.

Experience: The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: 1) holds or is qualified to receive NAD teaching certification; 2) has or is willing to work on obtaining Administrative Certification; 3) maintains a Spiritual presence and commitment; 4) leads by example; 5) knowledgeable of elementary and junior high curriculum; 6) possesses the leadership qualities of organization, follow-through, motivation, and communication; 7) involved in school activities. This 12-month salaried full-time administrative/teaching position starts on July 1, 2024. The salary range for this position is $55,885.31 to $76,239.74, based on North American Division certification and experience. Position open until filled.
