Spring Valley Academy is a vibrant and dynamic K-12 educational institution, located in beautiful Centerville, Ohio, that is committed to providing an exceptional learning environment that is deeply rooted in Seventh-day Adventist principles and values. We are dedicated to nurturing the spiritual, intellectual, and personal growth of our students, preparing them to become compassionate, Christ-centered leaders in a diverse and ever-changing world. We are seeking a dedicated and visionary Spiritual Education Mentor and Curriculum Manager to join and lead our team. This position plays a pivotal role in guiding the spiritual development of our students, overseeing curriculum design and delivery (include standards-based learning), and continuing to foster a climate of inclusivity and spirituality within the school community. Focus Points: 1. Spiritual, Christ-Centered Seventh-day Adventist Mentorship: - Provide spiritual mentorship to students, nurturing their faith and guiding them in their journey towards a Christ-centered life. - Oversee spiritual programs, worship services, and activities that align with Seventh-day Adventist principles. - Collaborate with faculty and staff to infuse Adventist values into all aspects of school life. 2. Curriculum and Instructional Leadership: - Lead curriculum development and enhancement efforts, ensuring alignment with our mission and values, as well as the Columbia Union Education Code. - Provide guidance and support to teachers in the implementation of effective instructional strategies. - Monitor and assess the effectiveness of curriculum and instructional practices, making data-driven improvements. - Continue to grow important relationships with higher education institutions like Kettering College to broaden student opportunities. 3. Strong Communicator and Collaborator: - Foster open and effective communication channels within the school community, including parents, students, faculty, staff, churches, and conference - Collaborate with a diverse population to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. - Build partnerships with local churches and community organizations to enhance spiritual and eduational growth opportunities for students. 4. System Manager with a Focus on School Climate: - Oversee the overall climate of the school, promoting an atmosphere of respect, spirituality, and inclusion. - Work alongside staff to address spiritual needs of students, whose backgrounds, upbringing, environments, and life experiences are vastly different from one another, ensuring that all students feel valued and respected. - Implement strategies to maintain a positive school culture that aligns with our faith-based mission. 5. Leadership Experience and Certification: - Demonstrate proven leadership experience in an educational setting (Principal Experience Preferred, but not mandatory). - Hold North American Division Certification. - Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for faculty and staff.
Required Experience
- A deep commitment to Seventh-day Adventist principles and a personal faith in Christ. - Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's preferred). - Strong leadership skills and a track record of effective school administration. - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse student body, staff, and community.
