Description
Bass Memorial Academy, an SDA boarding high school in Lumberton, Mississippi is seeking applicants for a Music Director. The music director is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, spiritual, emotional and physical growth. The music director is responsible for overseeing the music groups, private music lessons, and music programming. Care and upkeep of the music building and musical equipment, located in the building and other campus locations, is an integral part of the director’s responsibility. Applicants must have a strong desire to mentor young people and a willingness to serve others. This is a full-time, salaried position that includes teaching Choir (Celeste), Handbells, and String Orchestra, plus three additional classes (potentially private music lessons, Band, or other classes depending on qualifications). This position also oversees a small group called the AmBASSadors. Required Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education with secondary endorsement in music. Applicants are required to have and maintain a valid teaching certificate issued by the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists. Applicants should have at least three years’ experience as a music teacher and must have performance knowledge for choir, handbells, and string orchestra. The ability to teach private music lessons is essential.
