Under guidance of the Camp Director, the Counselor oversees an assigned group of campers. Responsible for knowledge of the whereabouts of all assigned campers, ensuring safety standards, instructing campers of camp rules and regulation, maintaining discipline, and guiding campers throughout all daily activities. Works within the framework of the program, policies, standards and expectations of Andrews University and the State of Michigan. Must be energetic, creative, positive, and have the ability to work well with staff and campers alike. Reports to the Camp Director and/or Assistant Camp Director. Must be 18 years of age or older. Previous experience working with children. Established record in leadership roles. Ability to work long hours, in an outdoor setting, requiring regular physical activity, standing for long periods. Ability to be highly punctual and to successfully allocate and manage time. Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
