Rogue Valley Adventist Academy (RVAA) is looking for an innovative and dynamic science teacher to join our faculty for the 2024-25 school year and beyond. The candidate will be responsible for teaching science courses to students in grades 7 through 12, including high school biology, chemistry, and physics, while fostering a love for scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving. RVAA, located on the outskirts of Medford, Oregon, has wonderful students from supportive families; kind, dedicated, professional teachers; and helpful support staff. The school is located on a large, attractive campus which boasts a recently expanded advanced tech lab/maker space and a well-equipped science lab. The school’s location in Southern Oregon with close proximity to hiking, camping, several lakes, the Rogue River, and a nearby winter ski slope is perfect for those who love the outdoors.

To be considered for this position, the candidate shall be certified in secondary science and, preferably, one additional subject and have his or her SDA denominational certification or willingness to work toward such. Note that consideration may be given to a second-career applicant who is degreed in a science-related field. The ideal applicant will have skills and enthusiasm to capitalize on the use of the maker space, which includes 3-D printers and more. Expertise related to standards-based learning is a plus. He or she must be an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Salary and benefits are based on the denominational wage scale and policy.
