Mother Lode Adventist Junior Academy (MLAJA) seeks a creative and knowledgeable grade 7-8 homeroom teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Depending on certification, the candidate will also teach specific subjects, grades 7-10. Having a PE/English background would be a plus. MLAJA is located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, two hours east of the San Francisco Bay Area and one hour north of Yosemite National Park. Our location puts skiing, hiking, canoeing, and other outdoor activities close to the school. At the same time, San Francisco and other Bay Area attractions are only 2.5 hours away. The MLAJA community comprises an active and supportive church, a thriving Early Childhood Education Center, and an expanding Adventist hospital. A full-time office administrator handles day-to-day office duties and communications. The school receives additional support from an established endowment.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: 1) holds or is qualified to receive NAD teaching certification that includes Junior Academy or Academy endorsements; 2) a team player; 3) maintains a Spiritual presence and commitment; 4) leads by example; 5) knowledgeable of upper elementary curriculum; 6) involved in school activities; 7) possesses the skills of organization, follow-through, and communication. The opening is a 10-month teaching position for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond. The salary range for this position is $55,342 to $71,086, based on North American Division certification, experience, and cost of living adjustment. Must have documentation to work in the USA.
