The President of Walla Walla University plays a crucial role in interfacing with the Board of Trustees. This involves the development of a long-term program aligned with the University's traditions, presenting comprehensive annual reports, and making recommendations on policies, finances, and personnel matters. The President is also tasked with the appointment of senior administrators and the overall management of staff-related issues. Serving as the secretary to the Board and president of the corporation, this role acts as a pivotal link between the Board and the university's internal operations. In relation to internal university affairs, the President oversees administrative officers, faculty, and staff. This encompasses promoting academic well-being, fostering unity, and taking primary responsibility for the religious life of the institution. Additionally, the President is involved in strategic planning, committee appointments, and the overall adherence to academic policies and regulations. This multifaceted role includes representing the University at various governance committees, presiding over the University Assembly, and handling disciplinary matters. Externally, the President assumes responsibilities towards the community and constituency. This involves serving as the official spokesperson, overseeing development and public relations programs, actively securing financial support, and being responsible for recruitment and admissions programs and policies. The President represents the University to diverse constituencies through publications, personal visits, and service on boards and committees, contributing to the University's broader engagement and impact beyond its campus borders.
Required Experience
Candidates for the position of President at Walla Walla University should hold a doctoral degree and preferably have 5-10 years of senior leadership and administrative experience. The compensation for the President of Walla Walla University is designated under the pay grade PRE, with an annual salary range from $145,837 to $163,251. The placement within this pay grade is contingent on the qualifications and professional experience of the new hire.
