Middle Grades Teacher

Savannah Adventist Christian School in Pooler, GA
Southern Union Conference | Georgia-Cumberland Conference
Description

Savannah Adventist Christian School (SACS) is seeking an outstanding, dedicated Adventist educator with a collaborative mindset to teach in our departmentalized middle school with another middle grades teacher. We are seeking a language arts teacher for our 5th/6th grade and 7th/8th grade classrooms, in collaboration with a teacher who teaches math in both rooms. Homeroom and other subject areas will be assigned, depending on specific strengths and interests.

SACS is a diverse Preschool-to-8th grade school of approximately 95 students with a mission-oriented focus and a team of eight experienced educators and several additional support staff. We occupy a well-maintained building in an expanding community on a beautiful campus in Pooler, Georgia. The school board has a history of strong financial stability and is supported by a single church constituency. Savannah is within an easy day's driving distance of Collegedale (TN) and Orlando (FL), and is near multiple historic locations within the coastal area, as well as having beaches nearby. The ideal teacher candidate will be an individual whose personal commitment to following Jesus Christ makes him or her a strong mentor for young people facing many challenges in their journey with Jesus. The ideal candidate will also have a natural rapport with upper elementary and middle school students, with an effective, age-appropriate classroom management style that wins the respect of students and parents while upholding integrity and professionalism. Additionally, the ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational skills to address the unique needs of multi-age instruction, be a team player, demonstrate a growth mindset, and have a passion for making learning relevant and meaningful in today's rapidly changing world. This is a wonderful opportunity for a dedicated teacher who wants to make an eternal difference in the lives of tweens and early teens.
