Description
The University Chaplain directs the University’s spiritual life, performs religious and spiritual functions associated with beliefs and practices of the Seventh-day Adventist Church as authorized, and provides spiritual and moral guidance and assistance to students and employees. The leader in this position plays a collaborative and inclusive role to implement and foster the spiritual development of the University community. The chaplain will bring energy and excitement to the work while interacting and cooperating at all levels on campus in order to minister effectively to the entire University community. The chaplain guides the campus ministry programs to enhance student development and leadership, partner with the Sligo Church pastoral staff to establish a strong sense of community across all campus constituencies.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Education and Experience: · Bachelor’s degree in Theology (or a related field). Masters preferred. · At least five years of pastoral experience, preferably in a higher education setting · A baptized member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in good standing. · Must be student-centered, innovative, and an excellent listener and communicator, with exceptional interpersonal skills · Must be able to exhibit flexibility in schedule and work weekends and evenings
