Description

Miramonte Christian School is seeking a full-time lower grades home room teacher. The candidate needs the energy, dedication, and understanding to teach elementary school students and inspire them to choose Christ as their Savior and Lord. The candidate should be strong in teaching all areas of the 1st/2nd grade or 2nd/3rd grade or 3rd/4th grade curriculum and also have proficiency with technology, experience in working with people from a wide range of ethnic diversities, and the flexibility and collaboration skills needed as a team player – willing to support and assist other faculty members and administration alike.

Miramonte Christian School is the premier Adventist school in the California’s Silicon Valley (south of San Francisco and west of San Jose); the spacious campus is set in a beautiful community amongst the foothills and 40 minutes from the Pacific Coast. Over 110 years old, Miramonte is a K-8 school with both single and multi-grade classroom teachers, ten supportive constituent churches, and supportive working conditions. It has a reputation for a warm Christian environment and high academic achievement.

Required Experience

This opening is for the 2024-2025 school year and is a 10-month assignment that starts on August 5, 2024.  The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:  1) holds or is qualified to receive NAD teaching certification, Basic, Standard, or Professional, with an Elementary Education endorsement; 2) a team player; 3) maintains a spiritual presence and commitment; 4) has a passion for the development of young people and is on fire for Jesus Christ; 5) knowledgeable in elementary curriculum; 6) possesses the skills of organization, follow-through, and communication; 7) being bilingual in English and Spanish would be a plus.

Applicants must be active members of the Seventh-day Adventist church as well as model Christianity and uphold the faith and values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Only individuals currently eligible to work in the United States can be considered. (Hold current work visa and residency in the US if not a US citizen.) The salary range for this position is $66,559.94 to $82,303.75 based on North American Division certification and experience.
