Description

The Oregon Conference Education Department is looking for a team player with strong customer service skills who is professional, an excellent communicator, and a self-starter who is also technologically savvy and loves God. Responsibilities include:

  • managing the student information system across the Conference including providing support and trouble-shooting assistance to school personnel,
  • managing the MAP testing program including significant data entry and providing guidance and support to administrators and teachers for proper administration of online MAP tests,
  • managing the SafeSchools digital portal including assigning training videos to staff in schools across the Conference and monitoring and reporting compliance,
  • assisting schools with NAD Dashboard data uploads and data management,
  • acquiring school data such as quarterly enrollment numbers and creating spreadsheets/charts of such data to be shared with superintendents and Board of Education members,
  • receiving, inspecting, and processing new-hire paperwork for locally-funded school personnel,
  • receiving and processing (including digital record keeping of) monthly guest teacher (substitute teacher) reports from all schools,
  • initiating and monitoring the background check process for volunteers and new employees, presenting to principals periodic reports,
  • organizing data spreadsheets such as education employee contact information,
  • assisting in emailing communications from superintendents to particular education employee groups,
  • assisting in collecting (emailed) paperwork for particular Education Department sponsored-events, 
  • emailing reminders to principals and uploading resources to the Education Department website,
  • intake and processing of various reports, including digitally filing such reports, and
  • infuse an Adventist Christian dimension into day-to-day administrative tasks, bringing a sense of purpose and mindfulness grounded in Adventist Christian values.
Required Experience

To be considered for this position, the candidate must have experience or training in office administration, technology, and/or business administration or a related field. The ideal applicant will have excellent communication skills, high technical aptitude, the ability to provide excellent customer service, and a growth mindset to learn and implement new processes. He or she must be an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This is a full-time, hourly position that offers basic benefits, including medical insurance.
