Position:  We are seeking intelligent, hardworking, and creative candidates for a 5th & 6th grade teaching position for the 2024-25 school year.  We serve a diverse population and welcome students of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds. Our beautiful campus includes a spacious gymnasium, multiple sports fields, and three playgrounds. Our modern classrooms offer AppleTV, smartboards, new desks/chairs, plenty of storage cabinets, and a teacher's office.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Collaborating with grade-level team and reading interventionist for planning and meeting the needs of students

- Developing and maintaining a safe, loving, clean, and structured classroom environment

- Planning and implementing engaging lessons and units of study 

- Communicating clearly and effectively with parents, children, and colleagues both in person and via emails and newsletters

- Developing a good rapport with students, families, and colleagues

- Meeting the needs of students who come from diverse backgrounds and vary in their ranges of ability

- Actively supervising students for lunch, recess, and other daily activities

- Tracking, monitoring, and communicating student growth and progress using standards-referenced proficiency scales (standards-based grading)

- Modeling and sharing Jesus' love with children

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree or higher (elementary education, preferred)

- SDA teaching credential (preferred, can be earned)

- Experience teaching (5th or 6th grade, preferred)

- Experience with Standard-based Learning (preferred)

- Have a passion for Adventist Education and a love for Jesus
