Walla Walla University is actively seeking two (2) Associate Deans of Women. These positions are full-time, salaried, exempt. The pay ranges from $54,972.36 to $62,468.59 annually, with subsidized dorm apartment rent. POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Dean of Women at Walla Walla University (WWU) plays a vital role in supporting and guiding residents in all aspects of campus and spiritual life. This position requires exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively work with students, parents, guests, and visitors. The Associate Dean resides in a dorm apartment and collaborates closely with the other deans to foster a consistent and team-oriented environment, with a strong emphasis on customer service. As a mentor and role model, the Associate Dean provides a positive and enriching experience for residents, exemplifying a Seventh-day Adventist Christian atmosphere.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. On-Duty Dean
  • Provides a welcoming atmosphere and is available to residents, parents, visitors and WWU personnel while representing the University.
  • Receives specialized training to provide emergency support and act as a primary point of contact in the event of medical, fire, death, threat, or catastrophic event involving the residence hall or a residence hall resident.
  • Mentors and supports student’s overall well-being. Ensures soft-referral for students to campus resources as needed.
  • Communicates and assures compliance of the resident hall handbook and all WWU policies. Timely reports student conduct violations to the Dean of Students.
  • Approves leave slips, late leaves, and completes Door Activity Report including calling students to follow-up on evening accountability.
  • Supervises Resident Assistants and Front Desk Workers, and maintains availability via phone and email for questions.
  • Handles daily unknowns, such as maintenance issues, key replacements, conflict resolution, and guest walk-ins.
  • On-call rotation during nights and weekends.
  • Provides additional support during move-in/out weeks.
  • Coordinates summer reservation process for guests and groups.
2. Front Desk Supervisor
  • Recruits, interviews, and hires 30-35 student front desk workers. Provides training, supervision, and time card approvals.
  • Reviews and updates desk informational binders (phone tree, resident roster, frequently used numbers, etc.) log sheets, master/custodial card use.
  • Responsible for scheduling 24/7 shift rotations for weekdays, weekends, school breaks, and summers.
  • Manages front desk budget and purchases office supplies.
  • Hosts regular desk staff meetings, including team building, and acts as a liaison between resident hall staff and front desk.
3. Aleph Gimel Ain (AGA) Women's Club Sponsor
  • Oversees AGA budget, supplies, and materials.
  • Assists with planning and implementing AGA events, including Welcome Back Bash Booth, Resident Appreciation, food feeds, weekly worships, AGA weekend with vespers and Sabbath celebration programming, and others.
  • Reviews and approves publications including weekly newsletters, signs or other promotional materials.
  • Collaborates with OPS sponsor for consistent student experiences.
4. Regularly attends and participates in assigned committees.
5. Performs other duties as assigned formally or informally, orally or in writing.

Required Experience

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Minimum BA/BS degree or equivalent experience. MA/MS degree preferred. 
  • Licenses/Certifications: CPR and First Aid Certification, may be completed upon hire. 
  • Experience/Skills: 1-3 years, 3-5 years preferred.
