Description

Fresno Adventist Academy has an immediate opening for a full-time grade 5-6th teacher. We are a grade K-12 school located in the agriculturally rich Central Valley Region of California.  The location offers easy access to both the Sierras and the coastal area.  We are only three hours from both San Francisco and Los Angeles.  The teacher will be innovative and able to create a love for academic discovery and problem-solving while remaining current with standards-based learning.  The candidate must have good classroom management skills and be able to utilize multiple teaching methods and activities. The job would include teaching all elementary subjects with possible exceptions in PE and math.  Responsibilities include working with other teachers to promote optimal growth of students along with team skills in solving academic challenges on a day-to-day basis. Required Experience

Candidates will be committed to the mission of Adventist Education, relish the opportunity to teach in the Central Valley region of California, and thoroughly enjoy guiding young students into a lifetime of learning.  Applicants must be active Seventh-day Adventist church members eligible to work in the United States.  (Hold current work visa and residency in the US if not a US citizen.)  

 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:  1) holds or is qualified to receive NAD teaching certification, Basic, Standard, or Professional, with an Elementary Education endorsement;  2) a team player;  3) maintains a spiritual presence and commitment;  4) has a passion for the development of young people and is on fire for Jesus Christ;  5) knowledgeable in elementary curriculum;  6) possesses the skills of organization, follow-through, and communication;  7) being bilingual in English and Spanish would be a plus.  8) Must be able to legally work in the USA.

 

The salary range for this position is $54,726.74-$70,47.55 (will be prorated for the remainder of the year) based on North American Division certification, experience, and cost of living adjustment.
