  1. The Department of Biological Sciences at Walla Walla University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Biology to begin September, 2025. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in the biological sciences and be committed to excellence in classroom teaching and to mentoring both graduate and undergraduate students in biological research. Applicants with expertise in a variety of biological fields will be considered, but preference will be given to those whose teaching and research are in the area(s) of marine biology, organismal biology, or ecology. Other responsibilities include academic advising and service on university-wide committees. The candidate must be a dedicated Seventh-day Adventist Christian committed to integrating their faith with teaching and scholarship. Applicants should have an ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning, the ability to work collaboratively, and evidence of scholarly activity.

The department offers both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in biology, and jointly with other departments provides Bachelor of Science degrees in biochemistry, bioengineering, and biophysics. Currently we have over 100 undergraduate majors, along with ten M.S. graduate students and six Ph.D. level faculty. Teaching and research opportunities include use of facilities both on our main campus (http://biology.wallawalla.edu) and at the Rosario Beach Marine Laboratory (http://rosario.wallawalla.edu).

Required Experience

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Biology or closely related field.

Salary range: $65,688 to $82,929, commensurate with teaching experience and education.
