William A. Kirlew Jr. Academy is an elementary school located in Miami Gardens, Florida. Eight full-time teachers, an administrator, and additional support personnel provide instruction to over 130 students in kindergarten through 8th grade. Due to enrollment growth, WAKJA has an immediate opening for a third-grade teacher. The school is looking for someone who is a team player, creative, and loves children. Applicants for this position must model Christ-like behavior and attitudes that will positively impact students in leading them to Christ. Candidates must have good classroom management skills and be able to deliver instruction to students on the indicated subjects or grade levels using a variety of teaching methods and activities. Required Experience

Applicant must be a tithe-paying Seventh-day Adventist church member in good standing and have the legal right to work in the United States, providing evidence if employed. North American Division (Denominational) Teacher Certification with a minimum of a bachelor's degree is required and must be maintained (or must agree to work towards obtaining NAD Certification). Successful classroom experience and possibly a background in math and/or music are preferred. Must have a service-oriented attitude, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to work with students and families of diverse backgrounds. Possessing competent technology skills using current educational software and hardware is essential. Additional traits should include organization, attention to detail, self-directed, and motivated. Absolute confidentiality is required. Curriculum familiarity, content knowledge, and proficient instructional delivery are crucial.
