DEVELOPMENT - Prospect Mgt Officer

Position summary

The Prospect Management Coordinator works closely with the Director of Development and the Major Gift Officers to coordinate a variety of activities related to fund raising including the identification and ranking of prospects and prospect tracking and management.  The Prospect Management Coordinator will also, from time to time, prepare prospect profiles, progress reports and other materials to benefit the work of the Office of University Advancement and the work of fundraising by the development staff. This position does not have the flexibility for remote work. 

 

Qualifications summary

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum two to three years experience in prospect development a plus
  • Solid knowledge of word-processing, database management and spreadsheet software, along with ability to navigate and use the Internet. Experience with large database management systems is a plus
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices, preferably in a non-profit environment, preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Serve as an advisory resource for the Director of Development in matters relating to current and past fundraising practices at Andrews University
  • Coordinate and maintain donor prospect rating system
  • Coordinate and refine prospect management and tracking system for individual prospects
  • Implement and coordinate electronic screening efforts through external vendors
  • Assist development staff in the input of field research following prospect and donor visits
  • Generate written profiles on prospects and donors for use by development staff and volunteers in cultivating and soliciting individuals
  • Generate regular reports on fundraising efforts including progress toward financial and solicitation goals
  • In partnership with development staff, develop benchmarking targets
  • Coordinate effective utilization of information systems and databases necessary to carry out functions listed above
  • Generate VSE, Association of Theological Schools, and Endowment reports 


 

Required Experience

Qualifications

Technical competencies

  • Knowledge of Banner is a plus
  • Knowledge of CRM such as Raiser's Edge and Slate is a plus
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel, and use of formulas is beneficial
     

    Computer will be provided by Andrews University.
     

Interpersonal interactions

  • Must be comfortable interacting with Development Director and Staff and volunteers in order to gather information regarding donors
  • Must have good people skills in order to interact with potential donors as needed
  • Must be able to work well with all team members

 

Physical demands

Regularly: Sit, talk, hear and use hands to work with the computer keyboard.

Vision abilities required: Close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

 

Work environment

Normal office environment.
