- Bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education or an associated degree (Master's degree preferred)
- Valid teaching certification (denominational credentials and/or state certification)
- Member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church who reflects a Christian lifestyle supporting Adventist beliefs and values
- Prior experience teaching English Language Arts is preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to integrate a Christ centered English curriculum utilizing the NAD guidelines
The ideal candidate will:
- Be willing to work and function in a boarding academy setting by participating in school activities, including supervision duties, special events, and professional development events
- Bring their passion and interest to engage with the students in an extra-curricular area and incorporate into our school program. (i.e. coaching volleyball)
- Foster a classroom environment that promotes academic excellence, creativity, and promotes a biblical worldview
- Engage students who need enrichment or enhancement of curriculum in order to help students towards academic excellence
- Be familiar with the various standardize and aptitude testing to use as a tool for evaluating students
- Collaborate with colleagues and school administration as a team player
- Maintain open communication with staff, students, and parents
- Have some experience teaching English as a second language
