Armona Union Academy seeks a creative and knowledgeable teacher for a combination grade 5-6 self-contained classroom. Armona is a K-12 Academy with a current enrollment of about 105 students. We are located in the middle of the rich agricultural region of central California, 60 miles from Sequoia National Park and under 100 miles to reach Yosemite in the Sierras, 2 hours from beach areas such as Morro Bay, San Simeon, and Cambria, and just over 3 hours to reach San Francisco or Los Angeles. An Adventist Hospital in town brings professionals who support the school and local churches to the community. Eight constituent churches and an affiliated Junior Academy support AUA. Candidates will be committed to the mission of Adventist Education, relish the opportunity to teach in a country setting in the Central Valley agricultural region of California, and thoroughly enjoy guiding young students into a lifetime of learning. The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: 1) holds or is qualified to receive NAD teaching certification, Basic, Standard, or Professional, with an Elementary Education endorsement; 2) a team player; 3) maintains a spiritual presence and commitment; 4) has a passion for the development of young people and is on fire for Jesus Christ; 5) knowledgeable in elementary curriculum; 6) possesses the skills of organization, follow-through, and communication; 7) being bilingual in English and Spanish would be a plus. The salary range for this position is $51,603-$67,346 based on North American Division certification, experience, and cost of living adjustment.
