Portland Adventist Elementary School (PAES) is seeking candidates for a first-grade teaching position to complete the 2024-25 school year for a teacher going on maternity leave.  PAES is a PK-8 school located in west Gresham on eighteen acres, nestled in a quiet neighborhood. Our beautiful campus includes a modern gymnasium, multiple sports fields, and a large playground. Our school serves a diverse population of approximately 300 students.  We welcome families of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds who desire a Christian education for their children.

Teacher responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Planning and implementing engaging lessons and units of study
• Collaborating with a grade-level team and reading interventionist to plan and meet the needs of students
• Developing and maintaining a safe, loving, and structured classroom environment
• Actively supervising students for lunch, recess, and other daily activities
• Communicating effectively with parents, children, and colleagues
• Meeting the needs of students coming from diverse backgrounds
• Modeling and sharing Jesus' love with children

SDA teaching credential (preferred, can be earned)

Experience teaching 1st-grade curriculum (preferred)

Willingness to have fun with students

Member in good standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
