Mt. Aetna Adventist School is seeking qualified candidates for a long term, full-time teacher for our 1st grade classroom.
Located just east of Interstate 81 and within a thriving health care community, Mt. Aetna Adventist School offers a balanced approach to learning in a diverse and inclusive environment for approximately 150 students in kindergarten through 8th grade. Our school has experienced significant growth over the last decade, and we continue to project growth in the coming years.
Our school has four loving churches that have greatly supported our ministry for the last 70 years. With one classroom for each grade K-8 grade level, our class size averages 16-20 students per class. We believe that our students' potential grows when they are inspired by rich content with an emphasis on authentic, hands-on projects. We expect our teachers to provide an educational experience that is both challenging and supportive within a distinctly Adventist framework.
MAAS faculty embodies the values of academic excellence, celebrates diversity, and fosters positive character growth. We focus on character building because it takes both strength of mind and strength of heart to live with integrity, to find one’s passion, and to create meaningful change in the world. Our teachers are themselves learners, constantly searching for ways to improve their practice. A robust professional development program supports our faculty by introducing them to the latest knowledge and best practice in pedagogy, curriculum development, educational technology, and student assessment.
Jesus is first and last in all that we do. His love for each student is made manifest by the way we treat each other and by the way we treat our children.
