Ephesus Junior Academy, located in lovely Winston Salem, North Carolina, is a beautiful stand-alone school on the church campus. Each oversized classroom is filled with natural light and is well-equipped. EJA is a three-teacher K-8 school. The supportive church and board are looking to replace the retiring principal-teacher with an individual who will eagerly embrace the mission and vision of the school while supporting a curricular delivery model that intentionally strives for spiritual and academic rigor and relevance. The ability to lead by example will include:
• Ability to effectively communicate with others and clearly express complex ideas
• Proficient active listening skills to understand and adapt to students’ various learning needs
• Knowledge of appropriate learning psychology, styles and strategies
• Strong public speaking and oral presentation skills
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Advanced technology skills to track student attendance and grades and present creative lessons
• Leadership skills and patience for working with students of all ages
Master's degree in education or a related discipline is preferred. A minimum of 2-3 years of successful school leadership experience. Current denominational or State certification required. Active member of the Seventh-Day Adventist church who is mission-minded and desires to grow the school through passionate and energetic interactions with youth, share. Willing to embrace the administrative growth mindset of the Conference; Must have the legal right to be employed in the USA.
