Reading Junior Academy, located in the heart of Reading, Pennsylvania, offers a dynamic environment for both teaching and learning. Our school is dedicated to serving a diverse community of families, with a strong emphasis on building meaningful relationships between the church, school, and home. We believe that young people are the church of today, and their involvement is encouraged and valued. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator for the grades 5-6 teacher position who will help foster this mission and contribute to our vision of spiritual and academic growth.

As a grades 5-6 teacher, you will be part of a collaborative and supportive team of professionals who are committed to providing an environment that nurtures both the academic and spiritual development of our students. Our school is deeply engaged in a strong Home and School program, striving to create a close-knit community that supports the whole family in their faith journey.

Classroom management at Reading Junior Academy is focused on redemption and Christlike values, creating an atmosphere where students learn to embody the character of Jesus in their interactions and behavior. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about teaching, and guiding students to become both knowledgeable and spiritually grounded individuals.

Required Experience

The ideal candidate will be a Seventh-day Adventist who is actively involved in church and school ministries. They will love Jesus and love sharing Jesus with children of all nationalities. The candidate will be committed to

 

developing academic excellence in students as well as developing their love for Jesus and Biblical truths as expressed in Seventh-day Adventist beliefs. A minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably in education, with NAD teacher certification, or the willingness to take classes to achieve NAD certification, is required. New graduate teachers are welcome as they will have the opportunity to grow and develop their teaching skills in a supportive environment with experienced mentor teachers.
