Mauna Loa School is a K-8 program located on the Big Island of Hawaii. Actively supported by three district churches, MLS serves a school population of around 30 students, many of whom come from our neighboring communities, making us a true mission school. We have a strong preschool program located on campus that acts as a feeder into our elementary program. Located about twenty miles from active volcanoes and surrounded by lush, tropical beauty, MLS offers a reputable academic program and a handbell choir, drama club, and stringed instrument lessons.

Mauna Loa School is seeking a principal/teacher who has a passion for Adventist education and can balance the demands of being a full-time principal/teacher and working on a team within a growing K-8 program. Applicants must have denominational certification and experience in multi-grade teaching. Candidates need the ability to select age-appropriate instructional strategies, sound teaching methods, demonstrate good communication, consistent planning and follow-through, and a positive team spirit. Effective communication skills are necessary.
