Highland View Academy is seeking a task force assistant boys dean. The assistant dean will work with the head dean and is responsible to help with all aspects of life within Hartle Hall. He will share oversight of dorm worship, dorm cleanliness, communication with students, staff, and parents as well as other assignments given by the head dean and administration. Highland View Academy is a small, but growing, SDA boarding academy located in beautiful western Maryland. Our campus is rural and surrounded by farms, fields and mountains. The Appalachian Trail is very near to campus and there are many other national and historical parks and landmarks nearby. We are dedicated to serving our students and helping them to further develop their characters into the person that God is calling them to be. We have a dynamic, caring, and professional faculty and staff who are a lot of fun to work with. 

Required Experience

The ideal candidate for this position will have a high school diploma and at least two years college experience. The assistant dean's role includes: assisting the head dean in mentoring and discipling of students, maintaining the day-to-day tasks of running the dorm, being on supervision, assisting in managing Boys Club, driving students to town for errands or other events, and any other role as needed by administration or the head dean. The assistant dean is also encouraged to take part in other areas on campus as able. We are a tight-knit campus so helping out and being present is strongly encouraged. These optional areas may include: campus ministries, academic clubs or programs, music, or athletics. We are looking for an individual to join our team who loves to collaborate with fellow staff members and students. We are seeking someone who is ministry minded and enjoys helping young people further develop their character. A strong candidate would be someone who values personal accountability while being able to assist the head dean in developing a loving and nurturing environment in the dorm. The most important quality the ideal candidate will possess is love for the Lord and a desire to mentor young men and women into a closer relationship with Him. The length of this employment would be August 1, 2025 until May 31, 2026 with the mutual option of a second year. The applicant must be able to speak fluent English, 21 plus years of age and have a valid US driver's license.
