Superintendent of Education for the Iowa-Missouri Conference

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced education leader to serve as the Superintendent of Education for the Iowa-Missouri Conference. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a strong commitment to academic excellence and the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the elementary educational program in alignment with the Conference's mission and goals.
  • Partner with the Board of Education to oversee the administration of educational programs, ensuring they meet the needs of students and comply Mid-America education code as well as state laws.
  • Guide the local school boards through the recruitment and selection process for elementary teachers
  • Conduct regular observations and evaluations of teachers to support their professional growth, set meaningful goals, and enhance their teaching effectiveness.
  • Initiate communication with the Conference administration, providing regular updates on educational initiatives and operations.
  • Coordinate, organize, and host conference elementary events, including Outdoor School, Music Festivals, and the 7-8 Bible Experience.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community members, parents, and local organizations to foster support for the educational programs.
  • Support the secondary education program at Sunnydale Adventist Academy by serving on the executive committee of the school board.

Required Experience

Qualifications:

  • Active membership and attendance with a strong commitment to the mission and values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
  • Master’s degree in education, administration, or a related field is preferred. 
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in educational administration or a related leadership role.
  • Ability to travel 1,500-3,000 miles a month visiting schools and attending meetings.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
