Description

The Oklahoma Conference is seeking an experienced education leader to serve as the Superintendent of Education.

Key functions of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Personnel management including teacher observations and evaluations and decisions related to the employment of education personnel
  • Attending school board meetings and providing guidance to the local school board
  • Planning for and providing professional development for education personnel
  • Plan and organize the Music Festival and Outdoor School annually
  • Regularly communicate with the Conference administration regarding education initiatives and operations
  • Partner with the Oklahoma Conference Board of Education in the management of the education system in the Conference
  • Promote Adventist education across the Conference
  • Regular travel both within the Oklahoma Conference and the Southwestern Union territory for various meetings.

Required Experience

Qualifications include:

  • Active membership and attendance with a strong commitment to the mission and values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
  • A minimum of a master’s degree in an education field with a preference for school administration
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a teacher within the SDA system and an additional 5 years of experience in educational administration
  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
