Teaching Principal: Lead, Teach, & Inspire!

 Dover First Christian School (DFCS) located in Dover, Delaware seeks a dedicated Principal to lead our PreK-8th grade school with vision, integrity, and a commitment to Christian education. The ideal candidate will foster a Christ-centered culture, drive academic excellence through innovative leadership, and build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff. This role offers the opportunity to lead with purpose, shaping both the academic and spiritual growth of our school community. 

 As Principal, you will provide visionary leadership, nurture a collaborative culture, and work closely with our supportive board and church community. As the Grades 5-8 teacher, you’ll create an engaging learning environment where students excel academically and grow spiritually.

• Candidate should have a genuine love for Jesus and the ability to communicate this love to the students in credible ways.
• Be a visionary leader with a passion for student academic excellence and spiritual growth.
• Have proven leadership experience in elementary education.
• Be an effective communicator who builds positive relationships with students, parents, staff, DFCS school board and constituent church through friendly and open communication.
• Applicant should have a growth mindset with a commitment to lead by example.
• Have a desire to partner with staff to lead students to Christ and teach discipleship for a lifetime of service.
• Participate in school events, professional development, and ongoing planning for the school’s growth and success.

The following describes the preferred experience and/or skills for the ideal candidate:

• Two or more years’ experience as a principal
• At least four years teaching experience in either elementary or secondary classroom or both.
• Current denominational certification is expected.
• Active church member in the SDA church
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. at the time of application.

DFCS is approximately 40 miles from the well-known, popular Rehoboth Beach and boardwalk, Dover is surrounded by many beaches within 40 minutes - 1 hour distance of the school. Previous successful experience as a teaching principal is desired. Prior teaching experience (4+ years preferred), BS or BA in elementary education, and current NAD certification.
