Description

Forest Lake Education Center (FLEC) is a large pre-k through eighth-grade school located in Longwood, Florida, just 8 miles from downtown Orlando and very close to Forest Lake Academy. The school has an enrollment of over 670 students, with each grade having multiple teachers and classrooms. FLEC is actively pursuing certification through Marzano High Reliability Schools. They have completed Levels 1 & 2 certification and are pursuing Level 3 for the 2025-2026 school year. 

FLEC has an opening for a first-grade teacher for the coming school year. The ideal candidate will be passionate about young people and willing to grow professionally, participate in Professional Learning Communities, and take an active role in improving student outcomes. The school is seeking a dedicated and passionate teacher to join the team of four educators in providing a nurturing, Christ-centered learning environment for the students. The teacher will be enthusiastic about early childhood education and willing to work with school administration and the first-grade team to create opportunities for their students to not only grow academically, but in their love of God and others. Required Experience

Applicant must be a tithe-paying Seventh-day Adventist church member in good standing and have the legal right to work in the United States, providing evidence if employed. A minimum of a bachelor's degree with North American Division (Denominational) Teacher Certification is required and must be maintained (or must agree to work towards obtaining NAD Certification). A minimum of three years of successful classroom experience and a strength in early childhood education are preferred. Must be a team player; have a service-oriented attitude; be an effective communicator possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills; and be able to positively engage with students and families of diverse backgrounds, regardless of language, ethnicity, race, or socioeconomic status.
